Meet the Burgundian winemakers who have joined the DIVINEO team from the 2023 vintage! We’re delighted to be working with new winemakers who add their expertise, talent and passion to our team. Today, we’re off to Chambolle-Musigny to meet the Boursot family at their estate.
A LONG LINE OF WINEMAKERS
Guillaume Boursot settled in 1550 in the heart of this now world-renowned terroir. His winegrowing heritage was handed down through the family from generation to generation, century after century. Then, in 1974, Jean-François opened the Domaine’s tasting cellar, to introduce his wines to locals and visitors alike.
Jean-François’ son, Rémy Boursot, is now at the head of the estate. He works with his two sons, who represent fifteenth generation of winemakers in the family. The eldest, Romaric, is responsible for sales and marketing at Domaine Boursot. The youngest, Romuald, is the vineyard manager and cellar master. They cultivate vines in the prestigious appellations of Vosne-Romanée, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru…
PRESERVING TRADITION AND TERROIRS
For the Boursot family, true modernity is rooted in tradition. Attached to the know-how of their ancestors, they place the preservation of the richness of their terroirs at the heart of the creation of their cuvées. Organic fertilization, manual harvesting, natural fermentation and even amphora ageing are among the age-old techniques they are committed to perpetuating. Thanks to these practices, their wines are complex, intense and well-balanced.
And so, an obvious harmony was born between DIVINEO and the Boursot family, who share their love of the land and their philosophy of blending innovation and tradition. Starting with the 2023 vintage, they will vinify several DIVINEO cuvées, which we can’t wait to unveil to you. We look forward to seeing you in a few weeks to let you discover them…
