After introducing you to Domaine Boursot Père & Fils in Chambolle-Musigny, we’re now taking you 70km further south. Buxy, in the Côte Chalonnaise region, is home to Aline Beauné, the first female winemaker to join the DIVINEO team.
BUXY VINES AS A FAMILY HERITAGE
40 years ago, Aline Beauné ‘s mother took over her great-grandfather’s few hectares of vines. She produced grapes for the Buxy cooperative wine cellar. Aline’s passion for vines and wine was thus nurtured. She naturally chose to study oenology, and forged her reputation at Château de la Crée in Santenay. She stayed there for 15 years, working with Nicolas Perrault, another DIVINEO partner winemaker.
In 2018, the contract linking the family plot to the Buxy cooperative cellar came to an end. Aline Beauné saw this as an opportunity to realize one of her dreams: to make her own wines from vines that had been in her family for several decades. The Domaine that today bears her name was born.
AUTHENTICITY AND NATURALNESS
Aline Beauné grows Chardonnay in the Montagny appellation, as well as Aligoté. She also produces red wines in the Santenay appellation. All with the utmost respect for the environment. Aline’s aim is to help her vines (cultivated on a total of six hectares) achieve their best balance, without ever altering either the plant or the soil. A philosophy that extends to her beautiful rock-cut winery, in the heart of the ramparts of Buxy.
It’s only natural that DIVINEO should call on this expert in fresh, smooth white wines to vinify the Insolente Grenache 2023 cuvée. We look forward to sharing Aline Beauné ‘s version of this always surprising and captivating wine with you.
See you in a few days to meet the third and final winemaker to join the adventure this year!
