Winemaking : a new event for the Club des Affranchis

WINEMAKING EVENT: THE AFFRANCHIS AT THE DAWN OF THE VINTAGE

Last year, we gathered a handful of members of our Club des Affranchis in our Languedoc vineyards to take part in the harvest of the 2023 vintage. This year, we invited them to the other end of the grape route, in Burgundy. They were able to try their hand at the first stages of winemaking of the DIVINEO 2024 vintage. We tell you all about it!

DIVINEO winemaking event

On Friday, September 6, no fewer than 18 Affranchis gathered at the Castel de Très Girard. An emblematic Côte de Nuits restaurant in Morey-Saint-Denis. They shared a convivial dinner in the purest Burgundian spirit.

A MORNING OF VINIFICATION

Then, the following morning, the Affranchis visited the winery of Domaine Boursot Père et Fils in Gilly-lès-Cîteaux. The Boursot family are among the winemakers who have joined the DIVINEO team from the 2023 vintage to vinify several cuvées.

Rémi Boursot and his son Romuald introduced the Affranchis to certain stages in the winemaking process. With the harvest fresh from the Languedoc, it was time to sort the red and white grapes. The red grapes were placed in vats for fermentation. On their side, the white grapes went straight to the press. The Affranchis’ energy and team spirit were evident as they tackled the various winemaking tasks.

Once the work was done, they concluded the event with a real mâchon bourguignon (a typical lunch), punctuated by tastings of delicious flacons and exalted burgundian chants. The best way to say goodbye !

We can’t wait to taste the fruit of this morning’s winemaking, after a few months of ageing! The future wines will indeed rest in our winemakers’ burgundian barrels. In the meantime, you can find out all about the DIVINEO cuvées on our website.
