Grenache Vieilles Vignes 2022

Grenache Noir, Syrah

2022,

This exceptional cuvée comes from vines planted over 70 years ago by our winemaker Clodéric Prade’s grandfather.

With less than a hectare to harvest on the Montagnon plot, only 650 magnums of Grenache Vieilles Vignes are available for this 2022 vintage.

Its brilliant, intense color is garnet-red with purplish highlights. The nose is intense, with aromas of fresh red fruits underlined by subtle hints of garrigue. The palate is energetic and well-balanced, leaving a sensation of fullness and persistence.

A wine with great potential, to be enjoyed both young and in later years.

A four-hands creation

Vinified from whole harvests, I worked these grape varieties naturally, without chemical inputs, with the aim of making a living wine.

I carried out a spontaneous vinification using indigenous yeasts and aged the wine for 24 months in old Burgundy barrels.

— Seiichi Saito Wang, winemaker in Burgundy

The terroir of Marnes Blanches et Jaunes enjoys a Mediterranean climate with cool nights. I use no chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. Working with certified organic agriculture and agroforestry, I harvest by hand, respecting living organisms.

— Clodéric Prade, winegrower in Languedoc
